Before the Treatment
We ask you to be present 30 minutes in advance, so that we can numb the treated area if you wish. There are 2 options: an anesthetic cream or an injection. The anesthetic cream is applied superficially. The skin will be partially but not completely numb. Anesthesia with an injection is also possible, but we often advise against that because this can cause extra swelling. It is important that you do not drink alcohol or take medications such as ibuprofen or aspirin 48 hours before treatment.
The Treatment
After the intake, the administration and the application of the anesthetic cream (if desired), the doctor starts the treatment. This only takes a few minutes. With the help of a needle or cannula, the doctor inserts the filler. After he has done that, he will lightly massage the skin so that no bumps can occur.
After the Treatment
We advise you to follow the instructions of the doctor for the coming period. The first 3 days after the treatment, the swelling is most visible. The entire de-swelling period lasts an average of 2 weeks. After those 2 weeks, the initial volume will also have decreased by 20 to 30 percent.
Control, after-treatment and re-treatment
In some cases, a check-up appointment takes place 2 to 3 weeks after the treatment. It may be that the result has not yet been fully achieved. This treatment includes free refilling. This refill can take place within 3 months after the initial treatment.
