Fillers

With fillers we restore your facial contours and fill in your wrinkles. You will get back your youthful face shape. The doctors of Aesthetic Beauty Center have years of experience with injecting fillers and a lot of knowledge of the aging process. They provide beautiful, natural results.

The applications

As you get older you get wrinkles and your face loses its volume and contours. This may make you look a bit tired or worried. With the help of fillers this can be restored. Our doctors will strategically restore the volume in your face or fill in wrinkles and lines. Depending on the treatment indications, the doctor puts several small injections into the skin.

We apply fillers to:

  • Narrowed or invaded lips
  • Sagging cheekbones and cheeks
  • Slackened jawline
  • Depth under the eyes causing a tired appearance
  • Unevenness on the nose or a dropped nose tip
  • Deep nasal lip folds
  • Marionette lines or hanging corners of the mouth
  • Frown wrinkles, forehead wrinkles and lines around the mouth
  • Restoration of facial contours (Liquid Facelift)

Filler brands we use

We use fillers with hyaluronic acid. This is a non-permanent body substance. Hyaluronic acid is known to support the moisture balance and thereby provide volume and hydration to the skin. Brands we use are: Stylage, Belotero, Teosyal and Radiesse. Radiesse also contains calcium. This stimulates the collagen in your skin, which greatly improves it.

Procedure of the Treatment

The treatment procedure consists of: a free intake of 10 minutes, anesthetic if needed, the administration, the treatment itself, instructions from the doctor for the best possible result and a check-up appointment if needed.

Personal Advice

To start with, you will get individual advice from one of our doctors. Our doctors specialize in creating and restoring volume in the body. During a non-binding intake of 15 minutes you discuss your dissatisfaction to the doctor and the doctor will draw up a treatment plan based on your problems. The doctor will also tell you what to expect from the treatment and discuss any alternative options. You can also schedule this non-binding intake separately from a treatment.

Before your treatment

If you want the area to be treated to be anesthetized, we ask you to be present 30 minutes in advance. There are 2 options: anesthetic cream or an injection. With the anesthetic cream, the treatment area is partially but not completely anesthetized. The cream is applied superficially. You will still feel some of the treatment. But an injection can cause more swelling and mask the amount of filler. You can of course also choose not to anesthetize the area to be treated. In addition, there is already an anesthetic in the filler itself: lidocaine. If you do not want anesthesia, you can be present 15 minutes in advance, so that we have enough time for the administration.

The Treatment

During treatment, the doctor will inject filler into the treatment area with an ultra-thin needle. Then the doctor will massage this location so that the filler spreads well. The treatment takes about half an hour.

After the Treatment

You will experience some bruising, redness and slight swelling after the treatment. This is most visible in the first 3 days. The entire de-swelling period lasts 2 weeks. Also, 20 to 30 percent of the initial volume will decrease. You have also received a number of instructions from the doctor for these 2 weeks. It is important to follow these carefully, for the best possible result.

If you are coming for the first time, it is important that you know that a filler needs a build-up time of six months. Only then will the filler work optimally. Usually a filler works for 8 to 12 months. Then you can come back for a re-treatment.

Control, after-treatment and re-treatment

It is possible to have a check-up 2 to 3 weeks after the treatment. If you suffer from bumps, asymmetry or other imperfections, we can treat them free of charge. It is also possible to schedule a re-treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What side effects are there?

You may experience a slight swelling or some bruising. These are most visible in the first 3 days after the treatment. Then they pull away. If you suffer from an allergic reaction, call us or the doctor immediately.

When should I not be treated with hyaluronic acid filler?

  • If you have previously had a hypersensitivity reaction to a hyaluronic acid filler.
  • If you are pregnant.
  • If there is already permanent filling material at the site of treatment.
  • If there is another filling material at the site of treatment of which it is not clear whether this can be accompanied by hyaluronic acid.
  • If you suffer from an (active) herpes simplex infection (cold sores). Injections into the (upper) lip can even provoke a cold sore.

What is the difference between the Radiesse filler and hyaluronic acid filler?

We apply 2 types of fillers: hyaluronic acid fillers and collagen-stimulating fillers with hyaluronic acid. The hyaluronic acid fillers we use are from the A-brands Stylage, Belotero and Teosyal. The collagen-stimulating fillers we use are from the brand Radiesse. Hyaluronic acid also occurs in your body and it is an organic degradable material. Fillers containing only hyaluronic acid restore the volume of the face. A collagen-stimulating filler such as Radiesse contains, in addition to hyaluronic acid, calcium. This mineral is also found in your teeth and bones. In the skin, it provides extra collagen stimulation. A collagen-stimulating filler such as Radiesse thus improves the skin. The skin will look lifted and firmer. However, Radiesse cannot be applied in your lips, nose and tear nut. Furthermore, a treatment with Radiesse is cheaper in the long term than a treatment with the other fillers. The result lasts longer: 12 months and with a follow-up treatment often 18 months. However, there is also a build-up period at Radiesse in the first half of the year.

Why don't you use permanent fillers?

This is prohibited by law. The substances that make up permanent fillers cannot be broken down by the body. This makes you more likely to have bumps or infections. These complications can occur even years later. The temporary fillers usually do not have any serious complications. These are therefore a lot safer. And if this is the case, the fillers can easily be dissolved with hyaluronidase.

Can I still show myself after the treatment?

It may be that the skin is still somewhat swollen or red or that some bruises are visible. This goes away in 2 to 3 days. Fortunately, this is easy to camouflage with makeup. The entire de-swelling period lasts 2 weeks.

I have been treated with a filler before, is it harmful if another filler brand is used now?

First, try to find out which filler you have been treated with. Then we can better inventory how you will react to another filler. In general, you can use different brands without any problems. If you have ever been treated with permanent filler, we recommend that you do not have a filler injected into that particular place to prevent risks.

Don't I look unnatural after the filler treatment?

No, we work subtly. At most, you will look fresher and younger.

Can I work the next day?

Yes, that's usually not a problem. We do not recommend that you exercise for the first 48 hours, go to the sauna for the first week or visit the beauty salon for the first 2 weeks.

What is the difference between botox and fillers?

Botox and fillers are both injectables, but they don't work the same way. Fillers fill wrinkles and are most effective for deeper wrinkles. Think of bags under your eyes. We can also use fillers to make the cheekbones look nice. Botox blocks the stimulus transfer from the nerves to the muscles, temporarily paralyzing the muscles. As a result, no contraction of the muscles is possible, the wrinkles tighten and the skin comes to rest. You can temporarily no longer optimally activate certain muscles that cause wrinkles.
